The Coeur d'Alene Arts & Culture Alliance proudly presents the 6th Annual Fall Arts Festival "Art from the Heart" from October 2 - 11, 2008 ~Celebrating the arts in Coeur d'Alene by giving the community a sampling of Dance, Music, Theatre, Film, andVisual Arts to name a few.

The Coeur d'Alene Art Association will be showing their works and demonstrating their skillls on October 10 and 11 in the Plaza Shops. I am scheduled for Saturday afternoon at the same time (1:00 – 4:00 p.m. ) as Art in the Making in the Resort Plaza Shops by Art Spirit Gallery with live music. Our exhibit is just around the corner from that display.

About Harriett (Bratton) Masterson

As a child, my favorite pastimes were reading, sketching and painting. A High School art teacher, Diane Hopkins really inspired and encouraged me.
For many years, I was sketching, painting and dreaming, grabbing moments and times when children were at rest or after they went to bed at night. I began taking seminars and studying with some artists, eventually focusing almost full-time on developing my skills. As a Christian, I believe God gives people talents that need to be developed with His help and guidance. The artistic climate of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho is a perfect place to do so for me.

Along the way I studied with Nona Sicola, a Houston palette knife artist, 1972; Greg Conlin, a portrait and court artist, Lancaster,Texas, 1994-95 (his influence is clearly seen in "Ms Louise"- be sure to have a look at her on an earlier post); recently a class with Wes Hanson, 2006; 2008, workshop w/Linda Besse, nationally known wildlife artist. Continually taking workshops like the one with Lee Kromschroeder or Katherine Gill and Bob Phinney.
