Several years ago, we took a moonlight sleigh ride at Mt. Springs Lodge in Leavenworth, WA. These Belgian draft horses pulled the large sleigh full of people with ease and inspired this painting. This painting, along with the Cataldo picture, has been selected for the juried part of the Art Showcase in Coeur d'Alene and, like my other paintings will be for sale

About Harriett (Bratton) Masterson

As a child, my favorite pastimes were reading, sketching and painting. A High School art teacher, Diane Hopkins really inspired and encouraged me.
For many years, I was sketching, painting and dreaming, grabbing moments and times when children were at rest or after they went to bed at night. I began taking seminars and studying with some artists, eventually focusing almost full-time on developing my skills. As a Christian, I believe God gives people talents that need to be developed with His help and guidance. The artistic climate of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho is a perfect place to do so for me.

Along the way I studied with Nona Sicola, a Houston palette knife artist, 1972; Greg Conlin, a portrait and court artist, Lancaster,Texas, 1994-95 (his influence is clearly seen in "Ms Louise"- be sure to have a look at her on an earlier post); recently a class with Wes Hanson, 2006; 2008, workshop w/Linda Besse, nationally known wildlife artist. Continually taking workshops like the one with Lee Kromschroeder or Katherine Gill and Bob Phinney.
